KG Group is one of the largest and leading-edge production associations in Lithuania. The group companies has been operating for 130 years and comprises Kauno Grūdai AB, Vilnius and Kaišiadorys poultry farms and subsidiaries. KG Group activity is divided into grain and poultry sectors. These sectors develop individual integrated businesses that complement each other and jointly from field-to-table production chain ensuring a high quality of products. The company exports 50 % of the produce to more than 50 countries.

The activities of Kauno grūdai AB, a member of KG Group, include grain buying-in and processing: the manufacture of flour, farinaceous and instant products, as well as the manufacture of compound feed and premixes, trade in raw materials and other services. We fully supply ourselves with all the raw materials used in the production and control every step in production processes.

Flour and farinaceous products

The production chain of flour and flour mixtures starts with carefully selected grains purchased from Lithuanian farmers. We have our own laboratory, where we perform tests in order to determine the quality parameters of grain and ensure that only grain of approved quality is used in production. We grind the grain and produce flour in our own mill with a grinding capacity of up to 90,000 tons of wheat and rye flour per year.

Products:

• Wheat and rye flour: we offer the highest quality wheat flour Extra 405D, 405C, the highest quality wheat flour 550E, 550D, 550C, 550B, the first grade wheat flour 812C, 812B, and the second grade wheat flour 1050B, 1050C;
• Flour mixtures: for various types of pancakes, cakes, pizzas and other baked goods. We produce flour mixes for both the retail and HoReCa sectors;
• Specialised types of flour and mixtures thereof;
• Semolina.

Breadcrumbs and other coating systems

KG Group has been manufacturing breadcrumbs and other coating systems for more than 20 years. These products are used in the production of breaded meat, fish, vegetables and dairy products. KG Group’s breadcrumb production capacity is 750 tons per month, flour mixes – tempura, batter mixes, breadcrumb mixes, functional flour mixes (predust, batter, tempura, breader) are produced at 70-80 tons per month. KG Group’s basket includes about 90 different products. We produce breadcrumbs of various grain size (1-3 mm) and various colours (predominately white, yellow and orange colours from soft to bright shades). However, we always talk to customers looking for custom opportunities to expand the range of our products, and offer what they are looking for and what is relevant to their market.

Instant products

KG Group is the only manufacturer of instant products in Northern Europe with its own plants that is able to offer a wide range of instant products.

The commercial range of instant products produced by KG Group includes instant noodles in cups and pouches, and porridge in cups, all labelled with brands well-known in Lithuania and abroad, such as Sun Yan, Activus, Dorea, and Just Inn. More than forty major foreign companies, including large supermarket chains, trust their private label production to KG Group.

The range of instant products produced by KG Group includes: instant noodles, pasta, buckwheat, rice and couscous. The company has a total production capacity of 260 million instant product units per year, this being 180 million cups and 80 million pouches.

Pet food

The accumulated experience of more than 30 years in the field of animal food production and veterinary pharmacy allows us to offer high quality pet food. A professional team of specialists, our own production base and innovative solutions determine the success and establishment of the pet food business in the market. The range of KG Group products includes dry and canned food for dogs and cats. The product basket comprises super premium class dry extruded food, labelled with the Quattro brand popular in Lithuania and other countries. These are high-end products that use lyophilised, i.e., freeze-dried, ingredients. Freeze-dried ingredients retain the best properties and excellent taste, thus, preferred by pets and characterised with good edibility. The company’s basket includes products for cats and dogs under the Canis and La Murr brands, which are also exported to various countries around the world. Moreover, KG Group offers the production of private label products.

Development of new products

In order to meet the needs of consumers, we regularly updating the range of goods offered, supplementing it with new products. The new product development team monitors global trends, experiments, and looks not only for new flavours, but also exclusive product manufacturing technologies. We organise tastings, focus group studies, and perform both flavour and quality tests at each step until we achieve the best result.

KG Group not only manufactures own products but also offers production possibilities to other businesses. Companies can choose Private Label services based on their recipes or according to recipes developed by KG Group’s new product development technologists.
